Day 1 - December 27 - Depart from home
town
Day 2 -
December 28 - Bangkok, Thailand On arrival at
the Bangkok Airport, you will be met by our guide and
transfered to the Sheraton Orchard Hotel. To give everyone a chance
to arrive, no activities are planned today, however our guide is
available to advise on available activities. We will meet for an
optional dinner at 7:00pm. Royal Orchard Sheraton Hotel -

Day 3 - December 29 - Bangkok
The long tail boat trip is a perfect way to start our exploration
of Bangkok
. Navigate
along the Chao
Phraya River and venture into
the many lively inner canals which offer some fantastic views
of the local Thai life close up. 
Along the way we make a stopover at
Wat Arum, the temple of
Dawn, before continuing to the Grand Palace, dedicated
to the Thai Royal Family’s ceremony. Nearby are the
magnificent Wat
Phra Kaew, which is famous for the Emerald
Buddha Image and the Vimarnmek Museum, the world's largest
building entirely made of golden teak. After a stop for lunch, we visit
this complex
and drive through the many vibrant streets of
China Town to one of the most significant temples in
Bangkok. The Wat
Pho houses a gigantic
gold plated Reclining Buddha. Enjoy
our Welcome Dinner at a local

Day 4 - December 30 - Bangkok
- Damnern
Saduak – Kanchanaburi –
Bangkok Heading out of town we make our way to
Kanchanaburi with a
stopover at the picturesque floating market of
Damnern Saduak, which opens early in the
morning till noon. Here you will have a chance to go
around by boat, exploring the bustling trade of local
villagers.

We continue our journey to Kanchanaburi. This enchanting town has plenty to
see, the famous bridge over the River Kwai , the sobering War Cemetery and
the Jeath War Museum. We include these in a short
sightseeing tour before we take a train ride
through magnificent scenery, passing over
the original wooden viaduct
constructed by Allied POWs. We meet up with
our coach and head back to Bangkok. There are
some stops en route, to stretch our legs and take

Day 5 - December 31: Bangkok
Today is a free day to explore Bangkok,
have clothes tailored, visit one of the many
markets. Tonight is New Years Eve, we are going to
have a night you will never forget, a gala dinner onboard
the Grand Pearl Cruise. Picture beautiful scenery
and fireworks all around you. Even after the boat
docks there are parties all around

Day 6 - January 1: Bangkok - Ayuthaya – Phitsanulok We drive north to Bang Pa In, the
summer palace for many of the Thai monarchs from the
17th century. After exploring a
captivating collection of pavilions in a variety of
Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles
we board a boat for a leisurely trip to Ayuthaya, one of the world heritage
sites.
On arrival visit the largest temple of Wat Phra
Sisanphet, used as the Royal
Temple Palace by several kings. The next site is
Wat Chai Wattanaram
built by King Prasathong in 1630,
a huge prang surrounded by smaller ones to symbolize mount
Meru, the home of the
heavenly gods. Enjoy the scenic countryside as we make our way
to Phisanulok. Dinner at local

Day 7 - January 2: Phitsanulok - Sukhothai –
Lampang The major landmarks of Phitsanulok are Wat Maha That and Phra Budda Jinaraj, visit these sights before
we board our vehicle for a short drive to
Sukhothai. This famous
cultural town was once the royal capital of the
Thailand Kingdom, however its legacies are now in
the forms of many ruined temples and
palaces.
The excellent Ramkhamhaeng Museum displays a
lovely collection of artifacts while the park
features ruins of the very extensive city, which
flourished in the mid 13th to the late 14th
century. We also visit Wat Si Chum and its rather imposing
seated Buddha. The next stop on our trip is
Si Satchanalai where various ancient
monuments are still standing. Upon leaving this site
we drive to
Lampang and have time
to see some of Lampang’s most interesting sights
including Ban Sao Nat and Wat Chedi Sao.

Day 8 - January 3:
Lampang Phayao – Chiang Rai
An early morning start to drive towards Chiang. Along the
way we stop in Phayao Town to visit Kom Kan. On
arrival in Chiang Rai we embark on a longtail
boat for a thrilling trip upstream on the Mae Kok River,
passing through many breathtaking mountain landscape to a
Karen hilltribe
village.

This ethnic group is originated from
Burma, but had settled there long time ago, forming
the largest tribal population in northern Thailand.
Upon leaving the village we walk through the jungle
to the Yao and Akha Hilltribes. They still retain
their age old cultural traditions and are
recognisably distinct from each other by their dress.
After our drive back to town, we are free to
explore Chiang Rai. Wiang Inn Hotel - Chiang

Day 9
- January 4: Chiang Rai - Chiang Sean – Doi Tung – Chiang
Mai The royal capital of the
ancient Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Saen is nestled on the
Mekong riverbank which is now the border between
Thailand and Laos. Today we travel by roads to Chiang
Saen and
continue towards the famous Golden Triangle in
which powerful warlords have fought for control
over the opium trade. On arrival we have time to stroll
around and visit the opium
museum.

The next stop is Mae Sai Town
which is a trading hub of Thailand and
Burma. Upon leaving this site we make our
way through the
rugged mountain scenery to Doi Tung which is famous for the
Development Project of her Royal Highness. We wander
around and learn about the Princess
Mother's efforts at the Doi Tung "Flag Mountain" Development
Project, created to help improve the lives of the
local villagers by offering alternatives to opium
agriculture and use. Today ends up with a dinner at
the famous eating spot, Kantook with culture

Day 10 - January 5: Chiang
Mai - Mae Taman Elephant
Camp- Chiang
Mai Today we visit an
elephant camp and view the many colossal
animals performing their amazing feats of
strength and skill at the command of the
mahouts. Then enjoy an exhilarating elephant
trek through the neighboring jungle, past bamboo
trees and hanging creepers upwards to a remote village
of Lisu
People.
Upon leaving the village we take
an ox-cart ride back to the camp for lunch. Then
relax as we board a short bamboo raft trip
along the Mae Taeng River. We also have time
to see the famous orchid farm, featuring a
large collection of more than 50 different types
of colorful exotic year-round. The highlight of
this evening is a visit to the vibrant night
market which is full of local treasures.

11 - January 6: Chiang Mai –
Bangkok The
morning sightseeing tour of Chiag Mai
will will acquaint us with some major sights of
the city. First is the famous Doi Suthep Mountain where we embark
on a walk leading us to the
magnificent temple of Wat Prathat near the summit. At an
elevation of over 1,000m, the temple grounds afford a
panoramic view over the surrounding countryside.
We follow this with a visit to the old and new
parts of Chiang Mai. By mid afternoon, we fly back
to Bangkok. Tonight is our

Day
12 - January 7: Bangkok –
Departure After our final
breakfast together our Thailand adventure endds
with our transfer to the airport. It is
time to say goodbye to all our new single travel
friends who are departing for home. If you are
continuing on to Phuket it is time to catch our
plane.
