July 6 - Tuesday - Crete, Greece
Arrive Chania Airport and be met by a friendly greeting from our hotel
assistant. Transfer to our hotel and relax by the pool before meeting the
group for dinner.
July 7 - Wednesday After our morning Welcome
Meeting with complimentary drink, let's explore the Venetian Harbour of
Chania. Let's walk the narrow streets of the old port town. Most of
Chania's old buildings, museums, churches and craft shops are clustered close
to the harbour. The atmosphere has a touch of Florence and Venice combined with
the culture and character of Cretan people and traditions.
July 8 - Thursday
Famous Falasarna & Sfinari Fish Day which entails a trip to the beautiful
beach of Falasarna on the west coast. After a couple of hours of swimming, we
drive south to the idyllic setting of Sfinari for the best meal on the island
with the Baladakis family. Lunch for around 3.5 hours on fresh fish,
seafood, lobster, Kakavia (fish soup), organically produced salads, vegetables
and village style wine.
July 9 - Friday
Day free – optional excursions available
After dinner, join in the fun
of a Greek evening of traditional live music and dancing with lessons given by
Vassilis.
July 10 -
Saturday Gramvousa Boat Trip - A wonderful relaxing day to the
uninhabited tiny pirate island of Gramvousa. Be shipwrecked for the day,
swim, snorkel or explore the ruins of the Venetian Fortress perched high on a
plateau and marvel at the breathtaking scenery or simply soak up the
sunshine. Have lunch on the boat and then enjoy the paradise of Balos Bay
with its warm shallow waters. This beautiful lagoon is where Prince
Charles and Princess Diana spent their honeymoon on the Royal Yacht
Britannia.
July 11 - Sunday Day free –
optional excursions available
Evening and dinner in the historic Venetian Harbour of Chania – including
transfer, host and sumptuous meal with wine.
July 12 - Monday
Beach Day – the Blue Lagoon of Crete! Visit to the stunning lagoon on the
south west of the island stopping en route at the impressive Cave of Saint
Sofia and the Monastery of Chrissoskalitissa with its mythological Golden Step.
Elafonissi beach is listed as one of the best in Europe where the sand is
tainted pink from the millions of crushed shells and the water is clear
turquoise blue. You can walk through the lagoon to Elafonissi (The Deer)
Island. Packed lunch included
July 13 - Tuesday It is time to say goodbye
to all our new single travel friends as we are transfered to the Chania, Crete
airport for our flights home.

Optional Excursions
SAMARIA GORGE (Anyday)
Walk the longest and most stunning gorge in Europe
situated in Crete’s National Park. An opportunity to experience the
beautiful flora, fauna, scents and awesome sights of the 600m sheer cliff
sides. At the end, you can reward yourself with a refreshing dip in the
Libyan sea.
Full day excursion – leave the hotel at 5.30am and return
around 7.00pm. Not for the faint-hearted - you must be determined and fit
to complete this 17km walk that takes around six hours. Don’t forget to
take a small bottle of water (refill in the gorge), a packed lunch, your camera
of course and we highly recommend you wear walking boots and socks.
KNOSSOS & MUSEUM
(Sun)
Have the myths and legends surrounding this world famous archaeological site
brought to life by the excellent guides. See the story behind Sir Arthur
Evans excavations at the beginning of the 20th Century and wonder over the
4,000 year old artifacts that he discovered
Full day excursion – leave the hotel at 6.45am and return around
6.30pm
WINE TASTING LUNCH &
COOKERY CLASS (Fri) Vassilis
will tickle your taste buds with a variety of top class Cretan wines and a
lunch of traditional Cretan cuisine. You will then be invited into the
hotel kitchens to learn the art of making cheese & spinach pies, stuffed
tomatoes (Gemista) and other local delicacies from Mama Katerina
PAINTING COURSE (Sun)
Our local artist Anne Edwards, will give you two hours tuition on the art of
watercolour painting using basic and more advanced techniques. You will
enjoy sitting under the shade of bougainvillea covered pergolas to create your
own individual painting which will be mounted for you to take home as a
souvenir

Hotel
Accommodations All rooms have en suite bathroom with air
conditioning, shower, balcony, hairdryer, tea/coffee makers,
telephone and ironing facilities. Washer/Dryers are available
at no cost.
Amazing Greek Cusine Prepared At The
Hotel The Cretan diet is without doubt among the healthiest in the world and when people visit Crete they want to taste this famous
cuisine and enjoy traditional Cretan products such as olive oil, Cretan greens
and herbs, oranges, cheeses, rusk, thyme honey, and the fresh local fish. Mother Katerina, a housewife of that old era when everything was pure, is the quality assurance of the original recipes at the
hotel. Many of the guests stress that one of the main beauties of the hotel
is
the homemade food.
Breakfast is a continental buffet which includes coffee,
selection of teas, milk, orange juice, ham, cheese, tomatoes, olives,
fresh fruits, boiled eggs, muesli, cornflakes, cake, yogurt, honey, fresh
bread, whole grain toast, rolls and a selection of jams. Food can be
prepared any time of day from an a'la carte menu. There is no dinner
on Sunday.
Circular Hotel
Bar This area is
popular with guests and locals throughout the day and evening and is very
lively after dinner. The bar offers a wide range of alcoholic
and non alcoholic drinks, and also serves food. Sip an ouzo at
the bar and mix with the locals that come to enjoy the
evening and sample the freshly made pizza.
